Kinda Mad

Well, if life is full of surprises...this is one that I really didn't expect.  I've visited other message boards, especially because I delved into family genealogy.  I used to look at the various threads and thank God that my AOL message boards were NOT set up that way!  I thought how confusing, it's hard to follow...breaks your train of thought and makes it difficult to have a feeling of interaction between the writers.

It's not that I haven't tried...I joined two groups here on AOL and tried to interact on their own boards...but again, the continuity isn't there, it's not fluid...it stalls, it detracts from the messages.  Maybe someone has come up with the idea that all this interaction between us is not a good thing?

Also is this why AOL caved in about letting us have our "own board"...J-land Cafe?  Knowing that they were to change the entire scenario?

Does this particular format save AOL money?  What exactly are the benefits to it?  That is what I would of liked to have read in the AOL annoucement....some reason as to why.

I really would like to know how many people dislike this format.

Glad you're back in J-Land! How is your daughter and her babies? I am not familiar with the message boards. Maybe that's because I love reading and writing but I am really not into the chat rooms and other parts of AOL.  Well, I'll say it again. I missed your entries and I'm glad you're back!

OHH, I JUST SAW THE NEW BOARDS THIS MORNING. ITS TERRIBLE. EVERY WORD YOU USED TO DESCRIBE IT WAS DEAD ON THE MONEY. YOU DONT FEEL LIKE YOU ARE INTERACTING AT ALL, AND IT ISNT FLUID EITHER. I DONT LIKE IT ONE BIT. I JUST FOUND IT HARD TO WANT TO TRY AND STAY WITH IT TO READ THE MESSAGES.
NICE TALKIN TO YA LAST NIGHT SANDI!! :)

Well, since I am fairly new to this and these boards, I am confused as to what type of format will be coming.  I am familiar with the group message boards and I think that is HTML formated.  I didn't like that format and then found these message boards and have been enjoying reading the posts and posting myself.  I was able to meet new people, like yourself, and will be hoping that maybe this change won't be as bad as everyone is saying it will be.  I guess we'll see soon enough, huh?

I have to agree, what was unique was how convenient the boards were...now they'll be like every other bad thing on the 'net!  Bruce  http://journals.aol.com/anarchitek/thewizardofahs/

I'm new to the boards too and don't particularly care for this format, but I guess I can get used to it....
I wish more of you would come to the chat room, the Journal Cafe. I'd love to talk online with you....most of the folks here in journalland seem interesting, thought-provoking and have interesting insights into life in general. Can't we set a time we could meet in the Cafe and give it a try? This boarding dialogue really sux LOL

I think you should crash the AOL board meeting like they do in the AOL commercials, LOL.  I am just SO SURE that you would get the pleasant treatment that those AOL members do....ha ha.   I like your journal, keep up the good work!
