So I take it pictures are not working. Somehow I've lost the button for my hometown pictures and the regular add pictures definitely is not adding anything.
Jeanne from across the pond sent an email saying that she has lost her buttons completely and cannot even post anything to the journal.
Did I miss some kind of update from AOL that everything would be screwy for a while? For a long time I had file manager and it was easy to put pictures on throught that...so of course they messed with that and now it doesnt seem to work. Why do they seem to constantly try to "improve" everything when in fact - it does just the opposite?
Anybody else having trouble out there?

I haven't tried mine but I noticed some new options where the link to this entry used to be. were those already there?
No, you are not insane. The button is gone, you have to click on the camera to add pics from hometown and type in the whole addy thing!

If you are just adding pictures (not animated gifs) I have a solution for you.... go to AOL Pictures (it is free and you have unlimited room). Upload your picture there. Now, click on the picture and it will 'get big' and you will see 'permalink'. Click on permalink and copy that address. Now, in your journal click on the little camera and paste the address in there. Viola! Picture! This does NOT work with those animated gifs... it kills the animation, just so you know.

I use the camera thingie and upload from Photobucket. My AOL journal software is so messed up that I have to use and e-mail to put texts on my journal. I can't really complain because I am not an AOL subscriber anymore. I use it to keep with up with my journal but I do everything else on MSN. Hugs to you and your hubby.
I still cannot access my journal so I have written to Joe again and also to Stephanie the products manager. They are too keen to say it is OUR computers or OUR software when it is obvious that there are problems. I cannot access my journal, I have not been able to use File Manager since last November despite complaining on a regular basis and I know that some cannot add pictures through the picture button now. All we can do is keep on complaining, they will have to listen eventually.

Because "Life is Full Of Surprises" Aol has decided to deal you one of theirs! The people at AOL know how clever you are so they have hidden the button for "hometown pictures" in an update that they never sent you. Now it's up to you to find it!.....

This is a relief!!I thought I was the ONLY one having immense trouble posting pictures on my journal. My ADD PICTURES FROM HOMETOWN button disappeared weeks ago. Those evil AOL Blog Gremlins are obviously bothering everyone! Jon
aol has been a real pain just lately ~ seems to me every time they make an improvement they mess things up ~ Ally
File manager still works, you have to click the camera and type in the lead and the pic name. Email me if you need help....
Alerts are out though... ugh!
