Across the campus silence is
now what we hear.
Only yesterday they ran, they
hid in every corner.
Hearing dreadful sounds, turned
to stone, full of fear.
A lost child has come to maim
and kill, full of scorn.
Five hundred and seventy-one
dollars is all it took.
A Glock 9mm pistol was his.
His history hazy, his writings
in class a bit crazy.
Up til now no one noticed, or
is it a case of they were just
lazy?
But, really what is a teacher
to do? Check if the black writings
were purely angst written no more
than for a prank?
No, if truth be told, no one could
know, not you nor I no matter how
hard we tried.
Hero's were discovered on this awful
day, giving their lives so others
were saved.
A thousand points of light are held
in sway.
Amazing Grace was the only song for
this agonizing day.
God Bless Them All....

Hello? this is a poem about the killings on campus this week. I don't believe there is a person on the planet who hasn't heard about it....Sandi
Ok..after the noise of the gunfire, it was silent.
The students the faculty ran for cover - everywhere
Some froze in their spots out of fear hearing the shots
The killer himself almost a child, a lost child
$571.00 to purchase one of the guns that was used
The killer was an unknown, not friendly to others
views as slightly off by classmates and teachers
A teacher did try to warn police only to be ignored
One Hero, the Israeli, used his own body to barricade
the door so his students could escape out the window.
They held a memorial at nightime, over a thousand
people with candles held aloft..while a group
started to sing Amazing Grace....

Yeah, it's scary that no one knew what hit them until it happened. As a mother who has a child in a college campus, I am scared. I feel for the parents of the children who lost their lives in this tragedy. It's like living a nightmare. God Bless them all.
